Elizabeth Guerrero-Southard

Biography

Elizabeth Guerrero-Southard was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2001. Mrs. Guerrero-Southard became licensed in the State of Texas in 2001. Immediately thereafter, she joined the law firm of Ransome & Ray, P.C. in Brownsville, Texas. While with Ransome & Ray, her litigation experience involved complex banking and construction cases across Cameron and Hidalgo County. She practiced in state and federal court, including bankruptcy court. Ms. Guerrero-Southard also taught Civil Litigation and Wills, Trusts and Estates at the University of Texas at Brownsville. Additionally, she served on various committees and was a Board Member, Secretary, and Vice President of Cameron County Young Lawyer's Association.

In 2006, Mrs. Guerrero-Southard moved to San Antonio, Texas and joined Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal Hyde & Zech, P.C. Ms. Guerreo-Southard's practice focused on city attorney, general counsel, civil rights/constitutional litigation, labor and employment, land use, annexation and code compliance, municipal prosecution, ordinance drafting and tort claims. She became a Partner in 2015. Mrs. Gurerrero-Southard spoke at various seminars, including Texas Municipal Leage IRP City Attorney Conference.  Elizabeth is licensed to practice in United States District Courts for the Northern District, Western District and Southern District. In 2017, Mrs. Guerrero-Southard joined the law firm of Chris Pettit & Associates as a personal injury attorney representing plaintiffs in South Texas, including San Antonio, Laredo, Brownsville, McAllen and surrounding cities.
